Disclaimer: Hello! I might sound like a broken record, but if it wasn't obvious, this is going to be a work in progress. I have the HTML part down (I think), but the CSS part is a bit confusing for me. I know what I want to do, but executing is the harder part for me.

If I'm being honest, without fanfiction, I probably would've written a book by now. There's just something about writing about characters you love and spinning a tale out of their history or just blatantly disregarding it and throwing your own head canon in the mix! With fanfiction you have the opportunity to make your rare pair OTP (One-True-Pairing) a fan favorite! Hell, I read a, Baldur's Gate 3, Glut/Halsin fanfiction and it genuinely made sense. Would I have ever come up with it? No. Would I consider writing for it now? Honestly, yeah. Fanfiction can force you to think critical about the media you consume and with critical thinking, I believe there isn't a wrong way of doingn is. So, yeah, there might be different opinions amongst communities for a particular piece of media, but that's what makes fanfiction great. Only the author has all the answers and there's a reason we have a "Not Canon Compliant" tag for fanfiction on Ao3 (Archive of Our Own), because we can elect to ignore or morph certain aspects of that media to our liking, preference, or even to make a statement. For example people write LGBTQIA+ fanfiction for older pieces of media, because the media was made during a time where those people existed, but where shunned and prosecuted. I think that's also way we have a lot of re-tellings of popular fairytales from the perspective of a non-stereotypical protagonist. I also think it's just a great way to be creative. You have certain parameters. If you disregarded everything from the original media, when writing fanfiction, then you wouldn't be writing fanfiction. You're just using that character's appearance or location's building style as a placeholder till you can come up with a name on your own and tweak it to your liking, perfecting it in your vision.
Personally, I think the hardest part about writing fanfiction is doing it for yourself. For example, I love the movie, Anaconda, the 1997 verison, not the 2025 verison (I'm yet to watch it). However, I felt like there was a lot that could be done with Mateo and Serone's characters. There's the implication of a pre-existing relationship, through an image in a newspaper found on a wrecked boat. However, both of them were killed off in the movie, so they weren't available for a sequel and a prequel never came out. So, what does one logically do? Write fanfiction. That's right! With fanfiction, I had the chance to make up a past for Serone, using information we were given, such as him studying to become a priest, while tying in how him and Mateo know each other. I could write a fanfiction orchastrating their plan to use the crew as bait. There's limitless routes I could take. So, do you get the point?
